Volunteer Endeavors
In late August 2009 Urban Studio members volunteered to construct the backdrop for a fashion show called "The Purple Event" which took place September 10th 2009. This event was by the Anita Kaufmann Foundation, who's purpose is the raise epilepsy awareness.
In October 2008 and 2009 Urban Studio members volunteered at the Materials for the Arts - 30 Years of Reuse Masquerade Ball. Members took various shifts throughout the night at MTFA's mask making table.
In the Spring of 2007 Urban Studio members signed on to volunteer at the Urban Assembly Academy for Arts & Letters in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was a three session after school program held one a week that focused on engaging young students and inspiring creativity. In addition to facilitating the sessions we also renovated a class room into a gallery type space by building a structure that would display the student work!
